Agile frog \/ <\/strong><em>Rana dalmatina<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Agile frog is a European frog in the genus Rana of the true frog family, Ranidae.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agile Frogs are found in open woodlands and swampy meadows of North, Central and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southern Europe and Western Asia in mountainous areas up to 1000 m. In Hungary it is a frequent forest dweller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agile frog is a European brown frog, growing up to 90mm. The hind limbs are long,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the snout is rather pointed, and the eardrum is large and close to the eye. There are triangles reaching from the temple to the eardrum, which are dark brown. Its ventral surface is light brown, reddish-brown, or light grayish-brown with very little contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Adult males are rarely larger than 5-6 centimeters, while females can get up to 6-8 centimeters. In the wild, they have been recorded to spawn any time from the end of February to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the beginning of April. They produce between 70-1750 eggs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An adult agile frog\u2019s diet is made up of earthworms, and small insects, such as flies and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>beetles and their larvae.
