The Meadow mushroom, or Agaricus campestris, occurs on many continents, but is found mainly in Europe, Asia and North America. Meadow mushroom hats can reach 10 cm in diameter. The skin is white, sometimes fibrous and scaly. Its plates change colour from pink to brown and then to black. This is important because it is how we can distinguish it from the death cap. Meadow mushroom prefers meadows and pastures, especially those that have been properly fertilised. It also occurs in raised woodland edges. It always appears in groups. Meadow mushroom is a very tasty and popular edible mushroom. It has a stump collar, a convex or flat cap and free-standing plates. It lives a saprophytic lifestyle

25. Mezei Csiperke / Agaricus campestris
A mezei csiperke más néven az Agaricus campestris számos kontinensen előfordul, de főleg Európában, Ázsiában és Észak-Amerikában található. A mezei csiperke kalapjának átmérője elérheti a 10 cm. A bőre fehér, néha rostos és pikkelyes. A lemezeinek színe rózsaszínűről barnára, majd feketére változik. Ez azért fontos, mert így tudjuk megkülönböztetni a gyilkos galócától. Ez a gomba a mezőket és legelőket kedveli, különösen azokat, amelyek megfelelően termékenyek. Magas erdőszéleken is előfordul. Mindig csoportosan jelenik meg.
