18. Narrow-leaved Ash / Fraxinus angustifolia
What you are seeing in front of you is the Narrow-leaved ash or as it is known in latin: the Fraxinus angustifolia. The species which is most commonly found in western europe and hungary is a Fraxinus angustifolia subspecies. As its name suggests, it has narrow leaves with 7–13 leaflets; these are hairless underneath. This majestic tree is a medium sized deciduous tree growing up to 20-30 m tall, with a trunk up to 1.5 m. The young trees have trunks which are smooth and pale gray and the old ones have square-cracked and knobbly ones.

18. Keskenylevelű kőris / Fraxinus angustifolia
Amit látsz az a Keskenylevelű kőris, vagy ahogy latinul nevezik: a Fraxinus angustifolia. A Nyugat-Európában és Magyarországon a kőrisek ezen alfaja fordul elő leggyakrabban. Nevéből következik, hogy levelei keskenyek, 7–13 levélke nő egy száron; a levélkék alul szőrmentesek. Ez a lenyűgöző lombhullató fa közepes méretű, 20-30 méter magasra is megnőhet, törzse vastagsága 1,5 méteres is lehet. A fiatal fáknak sima és halvány szürke törzse van, míg az öregeknek négyzetesen repedezett és dudoros.
